Opportunities in security
Coming to work in the security industry is a good career move. The industry is growing strongly and it offers a variety of jobs and excellent career paths.
If you're new to the security industry, you'll also need to gain some new skills and experience on the job.
Gaining the National Certificate in Security Level 3 is the minimum you should expect to achieve. It can be studied by distance learning in your own time, and Waikato Security substantially subsidises your course fees.
If you're joining our Alarm Monitoring and Response Operations Centre, you'll undergo initial training on the job to learn the tasks and procedures involved.
As you progress in your career, you'll undoubtedly need additional, formal training in specialist skills, which Waikato Security will provide. And, for some people, a year or two working in security is an excellent stepping stone into other careers such as the police or owning your own security contracting business.
You're welcome to talk to us about working at Waikato Security. It's the first step towards making a difference in the community and in your own life.
